GAME 1 | Prairie View A&M 8, Grambling 3
GRAMBLING, La. --The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers needed nine innings to finish the job but secured the 8-3 extra-innings victory over the Grambling Lady Tigers Monday.
Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras (2-5) started in the circle and picked up the win for Prairie View A&M (9-15, 7-0). The right-hander went nine innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on 10 hits.
Offensively, the Lady Panthers were paced by junior Jaylyn Davis, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a home run and three RBI. Freshman Mia Nunez put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and an RBI. Sophomore Aerin Talley also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together three hits in five trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Prairie View A&M got an RBI single from Talley, scoring junior Brandi Juarez from second base.
The Lady Panthers then held the Lady Tigers scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. Prairie View A&M pushed across a run on junior Destinee Smith's one-out RBI double, which brought the score to 2-0 in favor of the Lady Panthers.
Prairie View A&M kept Grambling without a run before building their lead to 3-0 in the sixth inning.
The Lady Tigers then tied up the ballgame at three before Prairie View A&M fought back to retake their advantage in the ninth inning. The Lady Panthers left the yard two times in the inning on the way to scoring five runs, bringing the Prairie View A&M advantage to 8-3. The score remained 8-3 for the rest of the game, as the Lady Panthers coasted to the win.

GRAMBLING, La. --Junior Jerrica Rojas was dealing on Monday, throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers over the Grambling Lady Tigers 5-0.
Rojas (3-1) went the distance for Prairie View A&M (10-15, 9-0), giving up two hits, walking two, and striking out five.
Offensively, the Lady Panthers were paced by freshman Mia Nunez, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a double and two RBI. Junior Jaylyn Davis furnished a noteworthy effort as well, going 3-for-4 with a double. Senior Taliya Talley also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Nunez came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board.
The Lady Panthers then tacked on runs in the second and fourth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fourth when they scored three times.
