GAME 1 | Prairie View A&M 5, Alcorn State 3
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers broke through after a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning to knock off the Alcorn State Lady Braves 5-3 Saturday.
Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras (3-5) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (12-15, 11-0). The right-hander went three shutout innings while giving up one hit, allowing one walk and striking out three.
Junior Audrey Garcia led the way offensively for the Lady Panthers, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and three RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Prairie View A&M's offense had a good inning, putting three runs on the scoreboard.
The Lady Braves then tied the ballgame at three before the Lady Panthers came back to reclaim their advantage in the sixth inning. Prairie View A&M pushed two runs across on a two-run double off the bat of Garcia that scored freshman Jessica Hickman and freshman Kamaya Brown, which brought the Lady Panthers lead to 5-3. The score remained 5-3 for the rest of the game, as Prairie View A&M held on for the win.

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Sophomore Aerin Talley racked up five RBIs to help power the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers past the Alcorn State Lady Braves 9-1 on Saturday.
Sophomore Cailin Massey (6-5) got the win for Prairie View A&M (13-15, 12-0). The right-hander went six innings, giving up one run on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out one.
Talley went 1-for-3 with a home run in addition to her five RBIs for the Lady Panthers. Freshman Mia Nunez furnished a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Massey also contributed for Prairie View A&M, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Nunez put Prairie View A&M on the board with a leadoff home run off freshman Ta'Niyah Fletcher.
The Lady Panthers then held the Lady Braves scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. which brought the score to 4-0 in favor of the Lady Panthers.
Alcorn State narrowed Prairie View A&M's lead to 4-1 before the Lady Panthers stretched the advantage to 9-1 in the sixth inning. The Lady Panthers bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a grand slam off the bat of Talley. The score remained 9-1 for the rest of the game, as Prairie View A&M coasted to the win.
