BATON ROUGE, LA --The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to a 4-1 win over the Southern Lady Jaguars on Friday.
Junior Jerrica Rojas (8-2) got the win for Prairie View A&M (24-17, ). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up one run on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out two.
In the batter's box, the Lady Panthers were paced by junior Destinee Smith, who went 3-for-3 on the day. Freshman Mia Nunez compiled a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 0-for-1 with two walks and an RBI.
