The Prairie View A&M University Panthers faced strong competition at the Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State University from November 1-3. The event was held at the Emerald Bowl in Houston, TX, where the Panthers ended up 16th out of 18 teams.
In the Baker matches, PVAMU faced several rivals: they were narrowly beaten by McKendree University with a score of 843 to 895, and also faced close losses against Adelphi University and Newman University with scores of 834 to 853 and 864 to 874, respectively. They did secure a win against Lewis University with 851 to 836, but slipped against Maryville with a score of 806 to 864.
In the traditional games, the Panthers showed resilience as they triumphed over Southern University with an 819 to 719 score. However, they faced challenges in matches against Oklahoma Christian University, Central Missouri, Maryland Eastern Shore, and in a second round against Newman, recording scores of 804 to 940, 818 to 827, 837 to 919, and 849 to 891, respectively.
Jayda Gordon emerged as a standout performer for the Panthers, boasting an impressive average of 179.80 across the games.
The Panthers look to regroup and tackle their next challenge at the Colonial Classic on November 15-17, 2024, in Harahan, Louisiana at Colonial Lanes.
