PRAIRIE VIEW, TX --The Prairie View A&M volleyball team walked away with a three-set victory (25-15, 27-25, 25-17) over the Grambling Lady Tigers Sunday at home at the William J. Nicks Building for another SWAC win.
The victory boosted the Lady Panthers' record to 9-10 overall and 6-0 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers offense was paced by D'Mya Hill, who finished with 16 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333, and by Kylee Owens, who had 13 while hitting .462. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Leila Smalls had 12 and Makinzie Taplin had 11. From the front row, Valencia Wilder contributed six blocks.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers cruised to an early lead, handily winning the first set 25-15. Prairie View A&M never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that had just one lead change before the Lady Panthers took over the lead. The Lady Panthers opening set win came in a stanza where they hit .300. got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked five Grambling attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M took the second set 27-25 to quickly take a 2-0 lead. The Lady Panthers survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured six lead changes and was tied 16 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M took set three to finish off the match. The Lady Panthers took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to earn a 25-17 victory. Prairie View A&M ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, eight points, to close out the set.
The Lady Panthers will return to action on Monday, Oct. 13 when they host the UAPB Lady Golden Lions for a 6:00 pm serve inside the William J. Nicks Baby Dome.
