In a day filled with highs and lows, the Prairie View A&M Panthers faced a challenging second day at the SWAC East Round Up tournament in D'Iberville, MS. Day 2 of the competition continued of traditional matches, where the Panthers managed a solid victory against Grambling with a score of 918-643 but faced setbacks in subsequent rounds on February 8, 2025.
The team struggled through a series of defeats including a narrow loss to Alabama State (911-999), along with defeats by Jackson State (808-981), Texas Southern (852-912), and Southern University (960-832). Despite these mixed results, standout bowler
Jayda Gordon shone brightly, continuing to lead the overall competition with an impressive 1909 total pins, averaging 190.9 per round.
After starting strongly in 3rd place on the first day, the Panthers now find themselves in 6th position as the competition heads into its final day. The competition continues tomorrow, where the Panthers will compete in four more traditional matches against the other SWAC teams. The team's resilience and determination will be tested as they look to claw back up the rankings in the concluding rounds of the tournament.
