After a tough week that included a road trip and hard-fought battles in conference play, the Lady Panthers are hungry to defend home court and notch their first SWAC win of the season. PVAMU has shown flashes of resilience throughout league play, battling competitive teams and continuing to develop under the leadership of their new coaching staff.

Sophomore scorers such as Crystal Schultz have led the offensive charge for Prairie View A&M, consistently putting up points and keeping the Lady Panthers competitive in every quarter. Guard CJ Wilson has also been a spark, driving the offense and contributing key defensive plays.  Lately freshman guard Alana Shields has been adding to the Lady Panthers scoring.

Alabama State enters Prairie View off a strong performance in their last outing, where Caylee Simpson poured in 21 points and the Hornets featured a balanced scoring attack to secure a win in conference play. Their ability to spread the ball and stay aggressive on the boards gives them one of the more potent offenses in SWAC action this season.

The Lady Hornets have been competitive in league play, and Saturday's match up presents a chance for them to gain separation in the middle of the SWAC standings. For Prairie View A&M, this is a chance to defend home turf in front of a spirited crowd and to build momentum heading deeper into conference competition.
