GULFPORT, Miss. --Despite picking up four hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Alabama State, Prairie View A&M was unable to push across more runs, as the Panthers fell to the Hornets 2-1 Tuesday.
Kayla Adams (14-8) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (27-18). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on three hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the first inning. Prairie View A&M plated a run on a based-loaded walk by Isabela Rodriguez. Alabama State then scored one time over the remaining six innings to break the tie and grab the 2-1 win.
