Panthers snag 3 interceptions in 44-3 loss to Baylor

WACO, Texas -- Prairie View A&M football battled on the road Saturday night against Baylor, with the Panthers' defense making several impact plays in the 44-3 setback at McLane Stadium.

The Panthers opened the game with a strong start, taking a 3-0 lead on their opening drive and setting the tone early against the Bears. Prairie View A&M's defense continued to compete throughout the contest, forcing three turnovers, including three interceptions, while limiting Baylor to just one turnover of its own.

Malachi Williams led the defensive effort with three tackles and an interception. Harrison McKinley also recorded an interception, while Jj Davis added four tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss and an interception. Nahamani Harris paced the Panthers with 10 tackles.

Offensively, Zayvion Turner-Knox led the Panthers' rushing attack with 12 yards, while Tevin Carter contributed nine rushing yards. Kyyon Harris provided a receiving presence with three catches for 38 yards.

Despite Baylor's offensive production, Prairie View A&M continued to battle and created opportunities on the defensive side of the football. The Panthers finished the night with three interceptions and two pass breakups, showcasing a defensive unit capable of making momentum-changing plays.

How It Happened

Prairie View A&M jumped in front early, putting the first points on the scoreboard with a field goal on its opening possession to take a 3-0 lead.

Baylor answered with a strong offensive performance and eventually pulled away to claim the victory. The Bears finished with 552 yards of total offense compared to 110 for the Panthers.

The matchup provides Prairie View A&M an opportunity to regroup, respond and return to the friendly confines of Panther Stadium in front of the Panther faithful.
