FRESHMAN: In her debut season with the Lady Panthers, Owens had 207 kills and averaged 1.85 kills per game. . . She also had 23 blocks for the season…Recorded a career-high .538 attack percentage against Mississippi Valley State on Aug. 31, 2012…Recorded a career-high 17 kills in four games vs. MVSU on Aug. 31, 2012…Tied for career-highs with four blocks at Texas Southern (Oct. 10, 2012) and vs. Texas Southern (Sept. 8, 2012)…Came through with a career-high 14 digs in a 3-0 loss to North Texas on Aug. 24, 2012.
HIGH SCHOOL: She played two years of varsity volleyball at Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas during which she was selected for the 2^nd Team All-District. . . Owens also played three years of varsity basketball during which she was a two-time 2^nd Team All-District selection and was named “Most Versatile Player”. . . She ran track for three years at Stony Point and became Long Jump District Champion.
PERSONAL: Owens is from Austin, Texas. . . She was born May 28, 1994. . . Majoring in Education. . . Owens intends to become a Kindergarten teacher upon graduation.
