The William "Billy" J. Nicks Building is the proud home of the Prairie View A&M University men's and women's basketball teams as well as the Lady Panther volleyball team.  The Nicks Building, also affectionately known as the "Baby Dome" by PVAMU alums and fans, has been one of the centerpieces of PVAMU's athletics facilities over the past five decades.

Built in the early 1960s, the dome has went through a series of renovations over the years.  In 2011, the basketball floor was redone to reflect the school's new athletic logo and in 2012, every seat in the dome became chairback as it replaced several sections of bleacher seating.  The multi-purpose arena also hosts the school's graduation ceremonies, the athletic department's weight room in addition to serving as a concert venue for nationally recognized artists.

The newly renovated William J. Nicks Building received a face lift along with a new foyer and ticket office during the 2018-19 academic year.  Along with the new renovations the women's basketball and volleyball teams will move into their renovated locker rooms, while the PVAMU men's basketball team will be moving into a new renovated locker room location in the winter of 2020.
