Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Chanel Weeks, a sophomore from Texas City, Texas, is majoring in Kinesiology at Prairie View A&M University. She graduated from Dickinson High School and is passionate about pursuing a career in physical therapy. Becoming a student athletic trainer aide gives Chanel the opportunity to gain hands-on experience that will be invaluable in her future career.

Chanel's favorite movie is ATL, and she enjoys listening to the music of Kehlani. When it comes to food, Chanel loves seafood and pasta. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because it allows her to spend quality time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys shopping. Chanel finds working with the PVAMU sports teams particularly interesting, and she believes that communication, being proactive, and staying productive are essential skills for an athletic trainer aide.

One of Chanel's most memorable moments so far has been when she made the team at Prairie View, an accomplishment that excited her immensely. Looking ahead five years, Chanel hopes to have her own physical therapy practice. Her dream job is to work in a physical therapy office, helping others recover and heal. Chanel chose Prairie View A&M because it holds special meaning for her, as many of her family members are alumni of the university.
