Biography

Eliana "Eli" Gutierrez is a sophomore at Prairie View A&M University, pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering. Originally from San Antonio, Eli graduated from Antonian College Preparatory. As an athlete herself, Eli has always been motivated to provide other athletes with the support she would want as a player. Her goal is to help athletes with their recovery processes so they can perform at their best and maintain their health. This passion led her to become a student athletic trainer aide.

Eli's favorite movie is Hacksaw Ridge, and she enjoys foods like Pad Thai, street tacos, and açaí bowls. Her favorite holiday is the Fourth of July, which she celebrates with family and friends at a baseball game followed by a concert, fireworks show, and a river and BBQ trip. In her free time, Eli loves fishing and dirt biking. While she has worked with the football team, she finds the most interest in helping them with their recovery and performance.

Effective communication and the ability to put knowledge into action are key skills Eli believes an athletic trainer aide should possess. One of her most memorable moments so far has been winning a state championship as an athlete, then seeing the football team win their own state championship and go on to compete in the All-American Bowl. Looking five years ahead, Eli hopes to complete her degree and secure internship opportunities with strong professional connections. Her ultimate dream job is to work in Formula 1 medicine while also utilizing her skills as a mechanical engineer. Eli chose Prairie View A&M due to the academic scholarship she received, which allowed her to attend the university.
