Biography
Geneva "Gee" Castro, a senior from Houston, Texas, is majoring in Kinesiology at Prairie View A&M University. She graduated from Klein Collins High School and decided to pursue a career in athletic training after playing sports didn't work out. Still passionate about sports, Geneva became involved in helping others in the field, which inspired her to become a student athletic trainer aide.
Geneva's favorite movie is Norbit, and she enjoys the entertainment of Druski. She loves Hispanic foods and finds joy in celebrating New Year's, a holiday that holds special meaning for her. In her spare time, Geneva enjoys doing hair, as well as building and fixing things. She has found working with the track and field team to be particularly interesting. Geneva believes that critical thinking is one of the most important skills for an athletic trainer aide to possess.
While Geneva doesn’t have one specific memorable moment yet in her role as a student athletic trainer aide, she is determined to work toward her goals. In five years, she hopes to be working as an athletic trainer for an NFL team. Her dream job is to work in athletic training at a professional level. Geneva chose Prairie View A&M because she wanted to attend an HBCU and be closer to home.
