Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Jalyn Turner is a Senior Kinesiology major from Houston, Texas, and a graduate of Atascocita High School. As a proud legacy student, she chose Prairie View A&M University to carry on her family's tradition. Driven by her career goal of becoming a physical therapist for professional athletes, Jalyn joined the sports medicine staff as a Student Athletic Trainer Aide to gain essential hands-on experience, considering taping, recovery knowledge, and first aid to be the core skills every aide should master.

Her favorite team to work with is football, and her most memorable experience on staff was being front-row to witness the team's SWAC Championship victory—an inspiring underdog story she will never forget. Five years down the road, Jalyn aims to complete graduate school and land a position with a professional sports franchise as a full-time physical therapist. Outside of her studies and sports medicine work, Jalyn enjoys doing makeup, hitting the gym, listening to Drake, and watching her favorite movie, The Book of Life. Her favorite meal is a ribeye steak, and her favorite holiday is Christmas for the special quality time it brings with family.
