Jeaniya "JJ" James is a junior from Oak Cliff, Texas, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a focus on Exercise Science at Prairie View A&M University. A graduate of South Oak Cliff High School, Jeaniya was inspired to become a student athletic trainer aide due to her love for helping people and being hands-on. After transitioning from playing sports, she knew this was the path for her. Her favorite all-time movies are Remember the Titans and Princess and the Frog, and she enjoys wings as her favorite food. Christmas is her favorite holiday, as she loves spending time with family and celebrating her birthday soon after.

Jeaniya enjoys listening to music and hanging out with her family. One of her most memorable experiences was working with the Women's Basketball team, marking her first individual story. She believes critical thinking, adaptability, patience, and passion are key skills for an athletic trainer aide. A standout moment for her was her recent Fall Camp Day 2 experience. In five years, Jeaniya hopes to be working with stars in her field, either as an NFL athletic trainer or a physical therapist. She chose Prairie View A&M because she wanted to continue her journey with people who look like her and who genuinely care about her. She also heard great things about the university, so it felt like the right choice.
