Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Kiara J. Rodgers is a Graduating Senior Kinesiology major from Lufkin, Texas, who attended Pineywoods Community Academy and Angelina College before transferring to Prairie View A&M University. Following in the footsteps of family alumni, Kiara chose PVAMU because it automatically felt like home. Her love for sports and a personal high school injury inspired her to become a Student Athletic Trainer Aide, where her favorite part of the experience has been meeting new people and continually learning new skills on staff.

Kiara considers awareness, patience, and urgency to be the core qualities every athletic trainer aide should possess, and she has found working with the volleyball team to be especially engaging. Looking ahead five years, she aims to build deeper industry knowledge, expand her experience, and advance into higher roles, with an ultimate dream job of working as an Athletic Trainer for professional or collegiate athletes. Outside of her studies and athletic training duties, Kiara loves playing basketball, eating Chipotle or pasta, and spending time with her favorite entertainer—her little sister. Rather than movies, her go-to series is Grey's Anatomy, and her favorite holiday is Christmas to celebrate the Lord's birthday and exchange gifts.
