Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Lauryn Phillips is a Junior Kinesiology major from Dallas, Texas, and a graduate of Red Oak High School. She chose Prairie View A&M University for its great environment and its convenient Texas location close to home. Having played sports herself, Lauryn was inspired to become a Student Athletic Trainer Aide by the exceptional care she received from athletic trainers during her own injury recovery, driving her to offer that same level of support to fellow student-athletes.

Lauryn considers patience and time management to be the essential skills for an athletic trainer aide. She finds baseball to be the most interesting team to work with, highlighting a trip to San Antonio with the baseball team—where she enjoyed interacting and bonding with the squad—as her most memorable experience on staff. Five years down the line, Lauryn aims to become a certified athletic trainer and build a thriving career in sports medicine, with a dream job of working for a college or professional sports team. Outside of sports medicine and her studies, Lauryn enjoys building Legos, sleeping, eating seafood, and listening to Rod Wave. Her favorite movie is Lilo & Stitch, and her favorite holiday is Christmas for its cozy atmosphere.
