Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Aleyla Jai Wooten is a native of Lakeland, Tennessee. She's the youngest of two, and in her free time, she often hangs out with her friends. Wooten has been a competitor ever since she could crawl; winning her first baby crawling competition during halftime at a Memphis Grizzlies game. It wasn’t until she was forced to stop being a gymnast that she picked up a racket by her dad that's when she developed her love for the sport. Her dream has always been to play Division I tennis and having the opportunity to live it out at Prairie View A&M University means everything to me.  Her all-time favorite tennis experience is playing in the Jr. Orange Bowl and getting the chance to meet the infamous Nick Bollettieri.
