Ash’a Thompson, a graduate guard from DeSoto, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the court. With a major in Counseling, she is dedicated to balancing her athletic commitments with her academic goals. Having previously played at the University of Houston, Ash’a’s journey reflects both her growth and her drive to excel.

If she could challenge any athlete to a one-on-one game, Ash’a would choose Kyrie Irving, admiring his exceptional skills and playmaking abilities. Her most memorable sports moment was the excitement of playing for her high school team at the state level, a highlight that underscores her competitive spirit and dedication.

Ash’a’s passion for basketball is deeply rooted in her faith, family, and personal aspirations. She believes that the greatest challenge for athletes today is managing mental health, an issue she takes seriously.

Beyond the court, Ash’a enjoys a range of hobbies including reading, exploring new adventures, and shopping. Her favorite food is pasta, and she has a special fondness for Halloween, appreciating the holiday's playful and creative spirit.

Looking ahead, Ash’a hopes to be successful in her career and aspires to become a Sports Psychologist. She chose Prairie View A&M due to the strong connections and the trust she has in the coaching staff, making it a perfect environment for her continued growth and success.
