Biography
Kiersten Atkinson is a senior middle hitter from Grand Prairie, Texas, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Prairie View A&M. Her journey in volleyball has been deeply influenced by her mother, who inspired her to take up the sport.
Kiersten's favorite all-time movie is The Hunger Games, and she is a big fan of Beyoncé. Her preferred foods include seafood boil and chicken & waffles, and she loves the 4th of July for its summer vibes and fireworks. Her hobbies include working out and studying, reflecting her commitment to both athletics and academics.
Her passion for volleyball is driven by her teammates, who make the sport enjoyable and rewarding. Kiersten believes that one of the greatest challenges for athletes today is maintaining mental resilience, as the mental aspect of sports tests their capabilities in unique ways.
While Kiersten has many memorable moments in her sport, she finds that any time spent laughing and enjoying herself with her teammates stands out. Looking ahead, she hopes to be in medical school within the next five years, with the ultimate goal of becoming a family doctor.
