Kylee Owens, a junior outside hitter from Culver City, California, is majoring in Business Management at Prairie View A&M. After discovering her passion for volleyball at a camp in 6th grade, she has pursued the sport with dedication and enthusiasm.

Kylee’s favorite all-time movie is Apocalypto, and she is a big fan of SZA, who is also her favorite entertainer. Halloween stands out as her favorite holiday due to the excitement of dressing up and its proximity to her birthday. Her hobbies include doing her nails, spending time with friends and family, and watching design shows.

Kylee’s passion for volleyball is driven by her competitive nature and the camaraderie with her teammates. She acknowledges that mental health and burnout are significant challenges for athletes today, highlighting the importance of maintaining balance and well-being.

One of Kylee’s most memorable moments in volleyball was winning gold in her final year of club volleyball, a perfect way to end that chapter of her athletic career. Looking ahead, she hopes to be part of a well-known real estate brokerage, specializing in selling homes. Her dream job combines her interests in real estate and design, aiming to work as both a real estate agent and interior designer.

Kylee chose Prairie View A&M for its appealing campus, supportive environment, and vibrant culture, which made her feel like she had found the right place to continue her academic and athletic journey.
