Brice Carlson begins his first season as the Run Game Coordinator for Prairie View A&M University in January 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience in offensive line coaching and run game strategy. A seasoned coach with a proven track record of success, Carlson is well-equipped to help elevate the Panthers' rushing attack and strengthen their overall offensive line play.
Before joining Prairie View A&M, Carlson spent the 2024 season at Valdosta State after serving as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for West Georgia since February 2022.  2022 and 2023 seasons as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator at the University of West Georgia (UWG). In his first season at UWG, Carlson’s offensive line was integral in the team's national success, ranking fourth in the country in sacks allowed per game and seventh in tackles for loss allowed. The Wolves’ offense, under Carlson’s guidance, led all of Division II with 506.9 yards of total offense per game, earning an NCAA Statistical Champion honor. Additionally, Carlson's line helped running back Jaxton Carson set a single-season rushing touchdown record with 20 touchdowns and surpass 1,000 rushing yards.
In 2023, Carlson’s offensive line continued its strong performance, ranking third in the Gulf South Conference (GSC) in sacks allowed and second in tackles for loss allowed. The Wolves averaged 369.5 yards per game offensively, finishing third in the GSC in rushing yards per game at 187.6 yards, ranking 29th nationally. Carlson’s impact was evident in the recognition of several players, with David Bodden and Kyree Jones earning All-GSC honors in 2022, and Bodden adding All-Region honors. In 2023, Bodden earned First Team All-Region honors, while running back Rajaez Mosley earned Second Team All-GSC honors.
Carlson is no stranger to UWG, having previously coached the offensive line during the 2015 season, where he helped the team win the Gulf South Conference (GSC) title and NCAA Super Region 2 Championship. That year, his offensive line unit averaged 220 rushing yards per game and set a school record with 34 rushing touchdowns. Carlson also coached standout linemen such as Orion Awa-Dubose and Dominique Robertson, whose performances contributed to the team’s success.
In addition to his time at UWG, Carlson has coached at a variety of other institutions, including West Virginia State, Southwest Baptist, Malone, Lindenwood, and Mississippi Valley State. He also gained experience in the GSC while serving as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach at Delta State University from 2013 to 2014.
Carlson is a graduate of Guilford College (N.C.), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a minor in Education in 2011. As a player at Guilford, Carlson started 30 consecutive games on the offensive line, many of which were at center. He went on to earn his Master’s of Science in Human Performance with a concentration in Sports Administration from Delta State University in 2015.
With his deep coaching background and proven success in developing dominant offensive lines, Carlson is poised to make a significant impact at Prairie View A&M, helping to build a strong, balanced offensive attack and enhancing the Panthers' run game in 2025 and beyond.
