Alvarez enters his second year as the head strength and conditioning coach for football, after returning to the "Hill" in April of 2022.
Alvarez previously spent three seasons at Prairie View A&M University as a member of the strength and conditioning staff. After joining the staff in October 2018 Alvarez has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program. His experience derives from working with a variety of athletes from the collegiate to private sector.
Alvarez came to PVAMU from Lifetime where he was the Performance Enhancement Specialist in which he designed, programed and implemented training programs for athletes in varies sports.
Prior to this he was the graduate assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Grambling State, where he worked as the head strength coach for Basketball and track while assisting with other sports.
Currently at PVAMU, Alvarez designs and implements training programs for the women’s volleyball, women’s bowling’s, women's basketball, men’s and women’s golf.
Alvarez earned his degree in Kinesiology in 2015 from Grambling State University.
