Robert Bailey, Jr.

Robert Bailey Jr. is in his third season as wide receivers coach at Prairie View A&M University.

In 2019, Tristen Wallace set a career-high mark in receptions (40) while Tony Mullins ranked 10th in the league for yards (601).

In his first season at PVAMU, Bailey helped Wallace earn Second Team All-SWAC honors in his debut season on the Hill, as he racked up 639 yards -- fourth-most in the league -- and four scores. Under Bailey's tutelage, Markcus Hardy had career highs in receptions (35), yards (524), and touchdowns (seven). Jeffrey Rector and Kalen Riles also had career seasons in 2018.

Bailey spent the 2017 season in a similar capacity at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, as freshman Tyrin Ralph was among conference leaders in receptions per game.

Bailey began his coaching career in 2014 as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Grambling, and later became tight ends coach from 2015-16.

As a player, he was a member of the 2011 SWAC Championship team at GSU, leading the team with five forced fumbles. A two-year starter at receiver, he was the team's third-leading receiver in both 2012 and 2013. 

Bailey received both his bachelor's degree in business management and his masters in sports administration from Grambling, and is the father of three children -  Robert  III, Karsyn, and Jordyn.
