Kevin Davis Jr., a junior defensive back from Freeport, is pursuing a major in General Studies. He previously played at Northwestern State University before transferring to Prairie View A&M.
Kevin’s favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, whose comedic genius he greatly admires. His all-time favorite movie is Next Friday, a classic that adds humor to his life. Tacos top his list of favorite foods, and both his birthday and Christmas are his favorite holidays due to the joy of receiving gifts and celebrating with loved ones.
Outside of football, Kevin enjoys working out and playing video games, balancing his athletic training with leisure activities. On game days, he follows a ritual of listening to music and watching highlight videos of Ed Reed or Kam Chancellor, which helps him get mentally prepared and inspired.
Kevin believes that maintaining consistency is one of the biggest challenges for athletes today, emphasizing the importance of steady performance and dedication. His most memorable moments in sports are from the last two years of his high school football career, which were pivotal and defining.
Looking ahead, Kevin aims to have spent a few years in a professional football league within the next five years. His dream job is to play in the NFL, aligning with his passion for the sport. He chose Prairie View A&M because of its established winning culture and the opportunity to learn from coaches who have extensive experience both as players and coaches, including the head coach, who has played at the highest level and shares his position.
