Mandel believes one of the greatest challenges for athletes today is blocking out distractions from the outside world, including fans, media, and even family.
One of his most memorable moments was winning the American Championship and the Cotton Bowl.
Looking ahead five years, Mandel hopes to continue playing basketball professionally, get involved in real estate, and set up his family and kids for life.
His dream job is to be a professional athlete.
He chose Prairie View A&M because of the culture.
