Biography
Eli Jacobs is a freshman from Houston, Texas, competing in the 800m and 1500m events with personal bests of 1:55 and 4:09, respectively. Eli was part of a team that earned a 3rd place finish at the SWAC Cross Country Championships, marking one of his most memorable moments in his athletic career. Inspired by watching his older sisters and cousin compete, Eli’s drive is fueled by the example he sets for his younger brother and his desire to achieve at the highest level.
A Business Management major, Eli is aware of the challenges athletes face today, particularly mental health, and approaches them with focus and determination. Over the next five years, he hopes to make the U20 national team in the 800m and win an NCAA national title, reflecting his commitment to excellence both on and off the track. His ultimate goal is to leverage his athletic discipline into a successful career as the owner of a real estate company.
Off the track, Eli enjoys fishing, shooting, and spending time with family. His favorite movie is Drumline, and he enjoys the music of Rod Wave. Eli celebrates his birthday as his favorite holiday because it allows him to focus on what he loves. This season, his goal is to compete at nationals, continuing his journey toward collegiate and professional success in track and field.
