Biography
Christian “Chris” Jones is a freshman from Monroe, Louisiana, competing in hurdles and the 400 meters. A graduate of Cypress Creek High School, he has posted personal bests of 14.67 in the hurdles, 38.6 in the intermediate hurdles, and 50.06 in the 400 meters. This season, Jones aims to improve his times and compete at the SWAC Championships, building on his achievement as a regional qualifier.
Jones is majoring in Kinesiology and is inspired by his talent and his family. One of his most memorable moments came when he became a school record holder, an achievement that motivates him to continue pushing his limits. He recognizes mental health as one of the greatest challenges for athletes today and uses his faith and family support to stay focused on his goals.
Off the track, Jones enjoys listening to music and eating, with oxtails and rice with mac and cheese as his favorite meal. His favorite movie is Home Alone, Kai Cenat is his favorite entertainer, and he cherishes the traditions of Christmas. Jones dreams of running a sub-49 400 hurdles and pursuing a career as a chiropractor.
