Biography
Cristian Hodges is a freshman sprinter from Houston, Texas, competing in the 200m and 400m for Prairie View A&M. A graduate of Westbury Christian School, he enters his first collegiate season with personal bests of 21.8 in the 200m and 47.8 in the 400m, aiming to drop those times to 20.8 and 46 this year.
Hodges is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and first got into track as a way to get faster for football, eventually discovering a deeper passion for the sport. He cites his mother as his biggest motivation and considers injuries to be one of the toughest challenges athletes face today. One of his most memorable moments was breaking 21 seconds in the 200m for the first time.
Off the track, Hodges enjoys gaming, loves wings, and lists Sinners as his favorite movie. His long-term goals include earning his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and pursuing a career in the field. He chose Prairie View A&M because it’s close to home and felt like the right place to begin his journey as a Panther.
