Biography
Dorian Xavier Holland is a dedicated junior track and field athlete at Prairie View A&M University, specializing in the 400 meters, 800 meters, and the 4x400 meter relay. With a personal best of 50.95 seconds in the 400 meters, Dorian has proven himself to be a versatile and dedicated runner. He aspires to push his limits even further by achieving a sub-46 seconds time in the 400 meters.
Originally from San Antonio, TX, Dorian graduated from Brackenridge High School, where he began his track and field journey. His passion for the sport was sparked by watching Usain Bolt’s iconic 2008 performance, inspiring him to pursue his own track career. Throughout his athletic journey, Dorian has remained determined to overcome obstacles and silence the doubters, always striving to improve and reach new heights. One of his most memorable moments in track came when he made a remarkable comeback from injury, hitting a personal record in the 400 meters after just four days of practice.
Dorian is currently studying Kinesiology at Prairie View A&M University, with long-term goals of becoming a Sports Biomechanist or Clinical Exercise Physiologist. He is driven by a desire to apply his knowledge of the human body and its mechanics to optimize athletic performance and contribute to the field of sports science.
Outside of track, Dorian enjoys various hobbies including rapping, cinematography, YouTube, and gaming. His favorite food is bacon egg and cheese tacos, and his all-time favorite movie is Surf’s Up. Dorian admires Kendrick Lamar as his favorite entertainer and treasures Thanksgiving as his favorite holiday for the opportunity to spend time with family.
This season, Dorian’s primary goals include winning the SWAC, staying healthy, and continuing to develop his skills in the 400 meters. He is focused on making significant progress and pushing his limits to further his track career beyond college. Dorian chose Prairie View A&M University because of the strong connection he felt during his visit and the opportunity to contribute to putting HBCUs on the map, creating a legacy of success and excellence.
