2025-26 Men's Track and Field Roster
Biography
Jordan Smith is a freshman middle-distance runner from Houston, Texas, competing in the 800m and 1500m for Prairie View A&M. A graduate of Klein Forest High School, he enters his collegiate career with a personal best of 1:57 in the 800m and is aiming to drop that time to 1:48 this season.
Smith is majoring in Finance and was inspired to pursue track by Coach Smitty, who helped spark his passion for the sport. His most memorable moment so far is winning his first race, and he continues to push himself with the long-term goal of reaching the Olympic stage. He believes consistency is one of the biggest challenges athletes face today and relies heavily on self-motivation, both on and off the track.
Outside of training, Smith enjoys simple hobbies that keep him focused—mainly track itself. His favorite movie is Black Panther, he loves pizza, and his favorite holiday is Christmas. He chose Prairie View A&M because of Coach Clay, whose guidance and coaching style made the program feel like the right fit.
