Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Julian Dawkins is a sophomore sprinter from Houston, Texas, competing in the 60m, 100m, and 200m. A graduate of Houston Christian High School, Dawkins enters the season with personal bests of 7.00 in the 60m, 10.65 in the 100m, and 21.32 in the 200m. He aims to open the season with personal records in all of his races and earn a medal in the 4x100m relay.

Dawkins is majoring in Accounting and was inspired to run track by his dad, a former college athlete, and his supportive mother. One of his most memorable moments came in high school when he helped start the fastest 4x400 relay in Texas private school history. He believes that emotional support and funding are among the greatest challenges athletes face today, motivating him to stay focused and driven.

Off the track, Dawkins enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, and riding his motorcycle. His favorite movie is Grown Ups, Druski is his favorite entertainer, and he loves steak, chicken Alfredo, and crawfish. He chose Prairie View A&M for its proximity to home and the welcoming campus atmosphere.
