Biography

Kellen Morgan is a dedicated sophomore track and field athlete at Prairie View A&M University, specializing in the 400 meters, 200 meters, and 4x400 meter relay. With a personal best of 48.35 seconds in the 400 meters, Kellen is determined to push his limits further, setting his sights on breaking the 45-second barrier.

Originally from Cypress, TX, Kellen graduated from Cypress Woods High School, where he first developed his passion for track and field. His journey into the sport was inspired by his cousins, who were involved in track. Initially joining to be around them, Kellen quickly discovered his own love for the sport, dedicating himself to improvement and pushing toward his goal of becoming a professional track athlete.

One of Kellen's most memorable moments in track and field came during his senior year of high school, when he made it to regionals in the 400 meters for the first time and also won the district championship in the event. These accomplishments solidified his passion and commitment to the sport.

Kellen is currently studying Mass Communication at Prairie View A&M University, where he plans to balance his academic studies with his athletic pursuits. In the future, he aspires to become a professional track athlete, aiming to win the SWAC championship in the 400 meters and national championships. If his athletic dreams don't fully materialize, Kellen hopes to pursue a career as a sports broadcaster.

Outside of track, Kellen enjoys night rides and spending time with his friends. His favorite food is enchiladas, and his all-time favorite movies are Transformers: Age of Extinction and Black Panther. Kellen looks up to LeBron James as his favorite entertainer and treasures Christmas as his favorite holiday for both the family time and the gifts.

This season, Kellen's primary goals are to break 45 seconds in the 400 meters, win the indoor and outdoor SWAC 400-meter championship, and continue progressing in his track career. He chose Prairie View A&M because of the vibrant culture and the opportunity to be part of a family-oriented and supportive environment.
