Sebastian “Cruz” Cruz is a middle-distance runner from Bronx, New York, competing in the 800m, mile, and 4x400m relay for Prairie View A&M. His freshman year, he has earned SWAC Newcomer of the Week honors and was a SWAC Indoor Conference Finalist. He enters the season with a personal best of 1:50 in the 800m and aims to run 1:47.

Cruz is majoring in Business Management with a Minor in Construction Science and is motivated by his family and his drive to build a better future. He describes every moment on the track as memorable and approaches the sport with determination and purpose.

Off the track, Cruz enjoys listening to music, working out, and staying focused on his goals. He loves Dominican food, lists Mid90s as his favorite movie, and hopes to accomplish something meaningful for himself in the next five years. He chose Prairie View A&M because, as he puts it, “life led me.”
