Biography
Walter Williams IV is a sophomore sprinter from Houston, Texas, competing in the 400m for Prairie View A&M. A graduate of Dekaney High School, he enters the season with a personal best of 49.7 seconds and aims to lower his time to 48.5 this year.
Williams is majoring in Juvenile Justice and was inspired to run track by his parents. He describes his most memorable moment in the sport as competing in his first track meet and is driven by faith and a love for competition. He recognizes mental health as one of the greatest challenges athletes face today and uses discipline and focus to overcome obstacles.
Outside of track, Williams enjoys playing video games, chess, and spending time with family. He loves watermelon, is a fan of the Maze Runner trilogy, and lists Los Polo as his favorite entertainer. Looking ahead, he hopes to secure a well-paying job and pursue his dream of working for the Secret Service. He chose Prairie View A&M because it is close to home while offering the opportunity to grow as an athlete and student.
