Ambria Dorsey joined the Prairie View A&M University softball staff in September 2025, bringing a strong background as both a decorated student-athlete and experienced pitching coach.
A graduate of Alcorn State University, Dorsey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2020 before completing a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Athletic Administration and Coaching in 2024. During her time as a student-athlete from 2017–2021, she was a key member of the softball program, helping lead the team to two SWAC East Division Championships and a SWAC Championship appearance. She also etched her name into the program’s record books, ranking in the top 10 in multiple pitching categories, including innings pitched, games started, strikeouts, complete games, and wins.
Following her playing career, Dorsey transitioned into coaching at her alma mater, serving as assistant coach and pitching coach beginning in fall 2021 under her former head coach. After two successful seasons, she continued her coaching career at Xavier University of Louisiana, where she worked as assistant coach and pitching coach starting in fall 2023.
Dorsey is dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the field, with a focus on pitching development, competitive excellence, and academic success.
She is the proud mother of one son, Brice.
