Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Kayla Zaid is a junior at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Business Management. She is from Deer Park, Texas, and previously attended the University of Houston before transferring to PVAMU. Kayla plays second base for the softball team and wears jersey number 7.

Softball has taught Kayla valuable lessons about how to deal with failure and how to get back up after setbacks. Her favorite all-time movie is Remember the Titans, and she enjoys listening to Zach Bryan. Kayla loves sushi and tacos and considers Christmas her favorite holiday because it allows her to spend time with her whole family and enjoy their traditions. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, reading, and playing pickleball.

One of Kayla’s most memorable moments in softball came when she won the 6A UIL State Championship during her junior year of high school. Looking ahead, she hopes to be graduating from law school and working as a lawyer in five years. Her dream job is either to be a lawyer or a personal shopper for someone famous. Kayla chose Prairie View A&M because of the positive atmosphere, the team's support, and the belief the coaches had in her and the team.
