Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Hanaiya Saadia Hughes is a senior Psychology major at Prairie View A&M University, originally from Oakland, California. Known for her thoughtful approach and strong sense of purpose, Hanaiya is excited to join the PVAMU Athletics Student-Media Team for the 2024–25 season. With a Panasonic camera in hand and a natural eye for capturing real moments, she’s looking forward to creating new memories and connecting with new people through her work.

Her focus this season is on growth—both personally and professionally. Hanaiya aims to improve her communication skills and develop as a leader within the team. She values the collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to a creative space that celebrates both athletic excellence and personal storytelling.

Outside of media, Hanaiya is involved with Cali Iz Active and the NAACP. Her hobbies include reading, working out, cooking, traveling, and making candles. She describes herself as an outdoorsy person who enjoys trying new foods and exploring new places. Her favorite movie is Good Will Hunting, and her go-to comfort meal is roast with rice. She holds Christmas close to her heart as a time to celebrate Jesus and gather with family.

Hanaiya’s calm presence, open-minded spirit, and hunger to grow make her a valuable addition to the media team this season.
