Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Mandy Afriyie is a Mass Communications major from Dallas, Texas, with deep roots in athletics and broadcast journalism. Born in Ghana and moving to the U.S. at age two, Mandy brings a rich athletic background—having competed in dance and track for twelve years alongside playing soccer—as well as a family connection to professional sports. On campus, Mandy is heavily involved in broadcasting and media as a member of KPVU-TV's Panther Sports Zone and the National Association of Black Journalists, utilizing an iPhone 17 Pro Max and CapCut for mobile media production.

Heading into the media season, Mandy's primary objective is to sharpen on-camera presence, refine professional interviewing techniques, and assist with press conference operations. Dedicated to gaining hands-on industry knowledge and expanding a professional network, Mandy strives for excellence both in front of and behind the camera. Outside of sports broadcasting, Mandy enjoys drawing, coloring, outdoor exercise, practicing yoga, and exploring new restaurants. A fan of Think Like A Man, Asian cuisine, and icons like Drake, Beyoncé, Teyana Taylor, and Tracee Ellis Ross, Mandy considers New Year's her favorite holiday for the opportunity it brings to curate a fresh start.
