Britney Washington

Britney Washington enters her second season as an assistant coach at Prairie View A&M University, after spending two years at Mississippi Valley State University before coming to the "Hill".

Prior to MVSU, Washington spent three years as an assistant basketball, volleyball, and track and field coach at her alma mater, West Feliciana High School in St. Francisville, Louisiana.

Washington attended Southern University in Baton Rouge and played on the women’s basketball team on an athletic scholarship (2012-2016). During her time at Southern University, Washington won 2 regular season Southwestern Athletic Conference championships, scored over 1000 points, and gained All-SWAC honors her junior and senior years.

Prior to attending Southern University, Washington was recognized as the Advocate’s High School Star of Stars in the Baton Rouge metro area after excelling in basketball, as well as, volleyball and track and field. While averaging 30.2 ppg, Washington led her high school basketball team in scoring, rebounds, steals, and assists and was the highest scoring female basketball player in the area since WNBA star Seimone Augustus. She was also a javelin thrower and pole vaulter for the WFHS 2011 State Championship track and field team.

Washington is a native of St. Francisville, Louisiana and the daughter of Patrick, Vernice, and Nyesha Washington.
