David Frank, Jr. returns to the Hill after a three-year stint at Jacksonville University. Although this is his first year back at Prairie View A&M he previously spent three seasons after joining Prairie View A&M University in July 2018. He spent more than nine seasons as an assistant coach at Southern University (2007-2016).
Frank worked at Southern under head PVAMU’s women’s basketball coach Sandy Pugh.
While at Southern he assisted the program to nine seasons of .500 or better, including nine winning seasons, and five seasons of 20+ wins.
He was part of the team that assisted the team to an outright SWAC title in 2010. The 2010 title was the first of back-to-back regular-season crowns for the Jaguars, who also won the outright crown in 2014 and shared the title with Alabama State and Texas Southern in 2016.
Frank also played a significant role as the Jaguars made three appearances in the NIT (2009, 2001, and 2016).
Franks' main duties will consist of monitoring student-athletes' academic process and assisting with recruiting.
