Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Janaiya Thomas, known by her nickname JT, is a senior at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in General Studies with a concentration in Health/Kinesiology. She is from Houston and previously attended the University of Houston before transferring to PVAMU. On the softball field, she plays as an outfielder and wears jersey number 10.

Softball has taught Janaiya the importance of having fun while playing. Her favorite movie is The Lion King, and she loves listening to artists like Chris Brown and Usher. Janaiya has a deep love for ice cream and cherishes Thanksgiving for the opportunity it provides to bring her family together. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies.

One of her most memorable moments in softball was robbing her first home run against Texas A&M. Looking ahead, Janaiya hopes to change kids' lives through teaching and dreams of becoming a teacher. She was drawn to Prairie View A&M because of the strong culture and family feel that the university offers.
