Mikayla Hutchinson is a Graduate Student majoring in General Studies. She previously attended Masnfield Timberview High School and Trinity Valley Community College before coming to Prairie View A&M.

One of Mikayla's favorite movies is The Wood, and she is a fan of Regina Hall’s work, considering her a top entertainer. In the world of sports, she admires Kevin Durant (KD) for his remarkable achievements. Her favorite food is crawfish and shrimp pasta, a dish she enjoys thoroughly. Christmas stands out as her favorite holiday, largely due to the opportunity it provides for cherished family time.

Outside of basketball, Mikayla enjoys hanging out, cooking, and shopping. She has a special affinity for the character Huey from The Boondocks, and she lives by the motto, "YOLO" and "Be patient; everything comes to you in the right moment." Many might be surprised to learn that she also has a side hustle in hairstyling.

Mikayla believes her strong work ethic is one of her greatest strengths as an athlete. If she weren’t playing basketball, she might have pursued running track or explored a different career path. Looking ahead, Mikayla envisions herself starting her career in five years, with a particular interest in the field of Real Estate as her dream job. Her decision to join Prairie View A&M was heavily influenced by the supportive coaching staff, who made her feel welcomed and valued.

Highschool : 18th-ranked recruit in Texas and a standout player at Mansfield Timberview High School and with AAU squad Texas Elite Premier..The 5A All-District First Team selection helped her team to a 40-3 record in her junior campaign, part of a 110-7 record for her and her school squad over the past three seasons...Mansfield Timberview also finished as the state runner-up for the second straight season in 2017-18, giving Hutchinson ample experience playing in big games. Hutchinson hails from New Orleans, Louisiana.
