Thurston High School in Inkster, Mich…Merida was ranked as the 70th-best high school power forward in the nation by ESPN…Earned Honorable mention All-West Honors by the Detroit Free Press…Was named a 2009 McDonald’s All-American nominee…Received All-Conference accolades in consecutive seasons from 2006-08…Competed in the U.S. Junior Championships All-Star Game…Also recruited by Texas El-Paso and Western Michigan.

Rennica Merida was born on Nov. 20, 1991 in Detroit, Mich…Majoring in Human Performance…She is also known as Princess Da’Joir…She first hit the floor at the age of 10… One word that best describes her personality is unique…Merida’s inspiration is her family because they will have her back no matter what…Her greatest accomplishment on the court was her first double-double…After graduation Rennica plans to move to Florida to pursue a career in human performance.
