Amani Moore is a senior at Prairie View A&M University, majoring in Biology. A proud native of Fort Worth, TX, Amani attended Byron Nelson High School before joining PV.
Prior to PVAMU, Amani had been bowling for eight years and was a standout at Byron Nelson High School, competing strongly in club play as well. Her notable achievements include being a third-place finisher in the Long Pattern division of the 2020 Storm Youth Championships. Amani's personal bests are an impressive 279 for an individual game and a 676 series. In February of 2020, she was named Youth Bowler of the Month by The Bowling News regional newsletter. Beyond her athletic achievements, Amani is also highly active in community service.
Her favorite professional athlete is Simone Biles, an inspiring example of determination and excellence. Amani’s all-time favorite movie is Princess and the Frog, and she enjoys eating salmon and rice, with a sweet spot for chocolate. Christmas is her favorite holiday, thanks to the music, lights, and decorations that create a festive and joyful atmosphere. In her spare time, Amani loves playing the violin and painting, showcasing her creative and artistic side.
Amani believes that being level-headed and having perseverance are key strengths that help her perform well under pressure and make her an exceptional bowler. One of the greatest challenges athletes face today is the struggle for equal opportunity and funding between men’s and women’s sports, as well as the need for better representation for smaller sports.
One of Amani’s most memorable moments in her sport was winning the SWAC championship in 2023. That victory was an incredible experience that made all her hard work and dedication feel worthwhile. Looking ahead, Amani hopes to become an established Physician Assistant or Radiologist in the next five years. Her ultimate career goal is to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, reflecting her ambition and passion for healthcare.
Amani chose Prairie View A&M because of its welcoming culture and friendly environment, which allowed her to pursue her dream of being a student-athlete while thriving academically.
