Jalyne Myers, known as “Jay” to her friends, is a senior at Prairie View A&M University majoring in Kinesiology. Jalyne hails from New Braunfels, TX, and before joining PV, she attended Coppin State University, where she began her journey in collegiate bowling.
Her favorite professional athlete is Tara Davis-Woodhall and Crazy Rich Asians stands out as her all-time favorite film. When it comes to food, Jalyne loves pizza and pho. Christmas is her favorite holiday, a time she cherishes for the opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends. In her free time, Jalyne enjoys bowling, shopping, and sleeping.
Jalyne believes that a strong mental game is what sets great bowlers apart. One of the biggest challenges athletes face today is maintaining mental health amidst the pressures of performance, academics, and personal life. Her most memorable moment in bowling was when she first picked up a bowling ball, marking the start of her passion for the sport.
Looking ahead, Jalyne hopes to continue bowling recreationally over the next five years, though not professionally. Her dream job is to become a nurse, combining her love for helping others with a career in healthcare. Jalyne chose Prairie View A&M because she had always admired Coach White and was excited to bowl under his leadership, making him her first point of contact when deciding to transfer.
