Miranda Fuentes, known by her friends as “Ran Ran,” is a junior at Prairie View A&M University from Houston, TX. She is majoring in Accounting and attended Langham Creek High School before making her way to college. Miranda’s passion for bowling is matched by her dedication to academics, reflecting her hardworking and balanced approach to both areas of her life.
Her favorite professional athlete is Kris Prather, an inspiration to Miranda for his skill and achievements. While she’s not much of a movie person, her go-to food is chicken alfredo. Miranda cherishes the holiday season, particularly Christmas, because it’s a special time for enjoying moments with her family and receiving gifts. When it comes to hobbies, Miranda loves playing video games and spending time with her friends.
A strong mental game and accurate spare shooting are the qualities that Miranda believes make a great bowler. She also acknowledges that one of the greatest challenges for athletes today is learning to block out negativity and criticism from the world around them. One of her most memorable moments in her sport was placing 2nd at the high school state competition during her senior year.
Five years down the line, Miranda hopes to have a successful career in the corporate world. Her dream job, however, is to become a real estate agent, combining her business acumen with a passion for helping people find their ideal homes. She chose to attend Prairie View A&M because it’s close to home and provides the unique opportunity to bowl at the collegiate level, a chance she’s excited to pursue.
