Christina Fitzpatrick is a senior at Prairie View A&M University, where she has been running for one year. Hailing from Michigan City, Christina has achieved a personal best of 20:55 in the 5K. Her impressive accolades include being named to the Honor Roll for three years, earning the Women’s Track and Field Most Outstanding Performer award, and becoming the Women’s 10K SWAC Champion.
Pursuing a double major in Architecture and Construction Science, Christina's goal for this cross country season is to strengthen her performance and set a new personal record. Her passion for running is inspired by her mother and is driven by the joy and excitement her family experiences when she competes.
Outside of running, Christina enjoys listening to music, doing puzzles, practicing yoga, and watching new movies and TV shows, particularly documentaries. Her favorite movie is Jet Li’s "Fearless," and she has a soft spot for pizza as her go-to comfort food. Easter is her favorite holiday, symbolizing celebration, renewal, hope, and faith.
Christina’s most memorable moment in sports was participating in the HBCU Showcase in New York, a significant and exciting experience for her. Looking ahead five years, she aims to be a licensed architect focused on designing and improving medical facilities such as specialty medical centers, hospitals, and clinics in underserved areas. Her dream job is to be an architect, and she chose Prairie View A&M primarily for its renowned architecture program, which aligns with her career aspirations.
Christina acknowledges that coping with the pressures to succeed is one of the greatest challenges for athletes today, and she remains committed to overcoming these challenges as she continues her academic and athletic journey.
