Prairie View A&M University Athletics

Justyce Thomas is a junior track and field athlete at Prairie View A&M University, specializing in hurdles. A proud Dallas, Texas native, she attended Bryan Adams High School before continuing her athletic journey at Prairie View. She is currently pursuing a major in Mass Communication with aspirations of becoming a successful journalist or sports reporter.

Justyce was inspired to run track by her mother and her own drive from a young age. She finds joy and freedom in pushing her body to new limits while continuously improving her performance. Her most memorable moment in track occurred when she was young and made it to a championship meet. The day before the event, after eating hot and spicy noodles, she found herself stuck in a porta potty before her race – an experience she won’t soon forget!

Justyce’s hobbies include braiding, cooking, and dancing, and her favorite foods are wings and seafood. Her favorite holiday is her birthday because it’s all about her. She enjoys the challenges of training for track, and her desire to improve her times and maintain a healthy lifestyle drives her passion. Justyce believes the greatest challenge for athletes today is balancing the pressures of social media, criticism, and personal responsibilities while staying focused on their athletic goals.

Her goal for the season is to continue striving for success, and her long-term career aspiration is to become a leading journalist or sports reporter. She chose Prairie View A&M University because of the strong track program, and she is excited to represent the university while continuing to improve as an athlete and future communicator.
